Two Major U.S. Auto Companies will Accelerate the Pace of Exports to China

It was reported by The Wall Street Journal that in the 4th Sino-US Strategic Economic Dialogue, which was just closed, the two major U.S. auto companies, Ford and General Motors Corp., had both acquired large orders exporting to China. Hereinto, Ford will use the current favorable exchange rate depreciation of US dollars to substantial increase exports to China in the number of motor vehicles. Under the new agreement, Ford will export 10,000 cars to China in 2009 and export other transmission components and spare parts to its joint ventures in China like Ford China Mazda Company. At the same time, related officer of Ford also explained that the environmental and safety standards had been adjusted to comply with the regulations of China in the trade agreements they signed with China.

Up to now, the sales record of Ford China is 90,791, in which the commercial vehicle sales at the first quarter of this year increased by 47% over the previous year. At the same time, the U.S. General Motors will also export vehicles, parts & components and machinery equipments in the value of USD1b to Shanghai GM joint venture by 2010 according to the agreement.
